Maths Evenings - Foundation, KS1 & KS2
Tue 30 Jan 2018We have held a number of maths' evenings for parents over the last week. These have been really well attended and it has given us an opportunity to share with parents our approach to teaching maths, some of the methods and strategies we teach and ways parents can further support their children at home.
We have attached the presentations from each of the three evenings below (these are also available in a printable version on our Curriculum web page - from our Home Page click on the 'About Us' pencil, then 'Curriculum' then 'Maths').

Emergency Closure Information and Procedures
Mon 11 Dec 2017Emergency Closure Information and Procedures (i.e. ‘Snow Days’)
With the advance of winter we thought it appropriate to familiarise all families with the School’s procedures in the event of adverse weather. We aim to remain open throughout snow showers wherever possible.
The School’s first priority is to be open for pupils. In the event of severe snow, please assume that we are open, but check the School’s website and RBWM’s website where we will post any updates.
The unlikely event of closure to pupils will occur only:
-
If we do not have sufficient staff to properly supervise pupils.
-
To ensure the safety and welfare of our pupils, and the whole school community, in the event of extreme weather conditions, fire, flooding, the spread of illness (as advised by the government), heating failure or an inability to provide food and water
If bad weather begins during a school day
If it becomes apparent during the day that the weather is deteriorating and getting home might become an issue, we shall:
Notify all parents with a text (via parent text) and place a message on our website and twitter page; if the decision is made to close. Please ensure we have an up to date mobile phone number.

Parent Governor Election Results
Fri 01 Dec 2017From Ryan Powell Chair of Governors
Thank you to all those parents who took the time to vote in our recent elections for a Parent Governor. We extend a warm welcome to Stephen Dorrett who will serve as Parent Governor until 2021. We look forward to working alongside him. Our thanks also goes to the other candidates, who were very keen to commit to Oakfield’s Governing Board and its work and took the time to put themselves forward for the role.
