Isle of Wight Trip Updates
Here you can find daily updates on the Year 4s field trip to the Isle of Wight from Monday 9th May to Friday 13th May.
Monday 9th May
All children and staff set off from Oakfield for Portsmouth this morning, on time, lots of smiling and excited faces.
11:45am - Have arrived on the island, all excited. Off for lunch and a walk. Will inform of arrival to hotel due early evening.
1:00pm - See picture below of all children taken after their lunch.
14:45pm - The Year 4s are having a great time at Robin Hill Country Park, they will be leaving in 30mins to make the journey back home. Estimated time of arrival at school later is 6:45pm, Mrs Hejsak will be in the school office should you have any queries.
3:00pm - Two thirds along the coastal path, a little drizzle but all still smiling.
5:00pm - All arrived at the hotel, very excited to unpack and head for dinner.
Tuesday 10th May
Everyone is up after a good nights sleep and ready for a day at Osborne House after a three course breakfast!
12.40pm - Hello from the Swiss Cottage at Osborne House, we are all having a great day! (Picture below)
5:00pm - After visiting Osborne House, we visited Snowy at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. We had a fabulous time there. On our way back to the hotel for dinner.
Wednesday 11th May
Everyone has had a hearty breakfast this morning ready for a day at Alum Bay. Variable weather today but should be drier later for sandcastles on the beach.
3:00pm - The weather has brightened up! The Isle of Wight'ers' have been on a boat trip around the needles after lunch on the beach. Now they are having an ice lolly and getting ready to visit the sand shop at Alum Bay.
Thursday 12th May
Everyone is excited for their last full day on the Isle of Wight before they return home tomorrow. Ready for a morning of rock-pooling and an afternoon at Amazon World!
12:30pm - Having lunch outside at St Helen's Bay (picture below)
5:00pm - Had a great time rock-pooling in the sunshine. Just left Amazon World. We had a close encounter with a tortoise, iguana and an armadillo. Have definitely worked up an appetite. Sandcastle competition tonight.
Friday 13th May
9:00am - Everyone is up, fed and packed. The bags are being loaded onto the coach and the Isle of Wight'ers' are saying goodbye to the sands hotel for another year. They will spend the morning and early afternoon at Robin Hill Country Park before their journey back home.
