Isle of Wight Field Trip Updates

Monday 11th May 2015

All of the excitable Year 4s left for the Isle of Wight on the coach this morning and on time!

Once they have arrived today they plan to visit Sandown Zoo.

All parents have been given an itinerary for the week and we hope that there will be regular updates of their week, here on the school's website, so check back soon.

11/05/15 UPDATE

11.30am

The children have arrived at Fishbourne, everyone is fine and happy and the sun is shining!

12/05/15 UPDATE

9.15am

After an enjoyable afternoon at the zoo yesterday, the children have slept well in what they describe a 5 star hotel! All have now had breakfast and are heading out for a morning of rock pooling.

3.00pm

The children had a lovely lunch with a fantastic view (see picture below) followed by an afternoon walking along the Shanklin - Ventnor coastal path.  They are all looking forward to Bingo this evening.

13/05/15 UPDATE

9.30am

All well here, we are off to see the Romans today.  All children are happy and enjoying the sunny weather. Next update this afternoon.

3.30pm

The children have had a fantastic day. This morning they made Roman style mosaic tiles and the sandcastle competition has been bought forward to this afternoon.

14/05/15 UPDATE

The children had a fantastic day today.  In the morning they were sheltered from the wet weather watching a glass blowing demonstration at Alum Bay and then went to the coloured sand shop. Once they arrived on the beach it stopped raining and they were able to go on the boat trip to see The Needles. In the afternoon they visited the Aquarium and then went back to the hotel for a quick dip in the pool.

The Year 4s and staff had a surprise visit from Miss Hathaway, Mrs Linton, Mrs Whittingham, Mrs Peryer and Miss Taylor (which is why the website couldn't be updated yesterday) to honour Mrs Sendorek's last Isle of Wight trip, they were lucky enough to spend the whole day with them and thoroughly enjoyed it.

15/05/15 UPDATE

The coach is now loaded with the luggage and the children are on their way to Robin Hill Park.  Their estimated time for arrival is 6.45pm traffic dependant.
