In Maths we have been revising place value and learning how to partition numbers into tens and ones, remembering that when we write the tens number it has a zero! Here we are having a go at splitting a 2 digit numbers.
In English we have been studying the book ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. We have been thinking about descriptive language to describe Superworm’s character and what makes Superworm a different character. A part of the story was about a character called ‘Wizard Lizard’ who caused a problem for Superworm. He made Superworm look for treasure but he didn’t find anything he wanted. At the end of the week we received a special letter from Superworm explaining that he had left us some clues to find some treasure that he wanted us to find rather than Wizard Lizard! We carefully read the clues and went around the school to find more clues that eventually lead us to some treasure! This was great fun and we enjoyed our treasure (some worm sweets!) and after all the excitement, we wrote some thank you letters to Superworm.
In Science we have continued to learn about animals. We were lucky enough to have a visitor from the charity ‘The Blue Cross’ to talk to us about having ‘Happy Healthy Pets’ and how to stay safe around dogs.
Multi Skills Festival
On Tuesday 9th June, Holly class were lucky enough to get the chance to go Windsor Boys School to take part in a Multi Skills Festival. There were other schools there and we were put into mixed groups so we made plenty of new friends as we rotated around the activities. We had activities such as javelin, bowling, football and tennis. We had a lovely morning and enjoyed taking part!
