Week Commencing 13th July 2015

Multi Intra Sports Festival

Saplings and Year 1 children joined together to have a fun day of multi sports. There were many great activities to try and were all lead by our super Year 4 Sports Leaders. The children really enjoyed participating in this and it was a great opportunity for the Saplings and Year 1 children to interact with each other. Here are some pictures of us having a lovely time:

We were very fortunate to be giving the opportunity to visit LEGOLAND on the 15th July as a kind parting gift from Mrs Sendorek. As you can imagine, the children were very excited! We had a lovely time and managed to do many activities. Firstly, we went to see a 4D show with fantastic special effects! Then we headed over to Fairy Tale Brook and had a relaxing boat ride. After this we headed for lunch which was delicious! After lunch we headed for the submarine which was amazing! We saw the beautiful fish, shark and manta ray swimming below us. From the submarine, we made our way to see the spectacular Pirates of Skeleton Bay Stunt Show. After the show, we all headed for the Thunder Blazer ride and then unfortunately we were out of time! We walked to the Hill Train to take us back to the coach. Back at school we had a yummy ice lolly on the field! What a busy, fun packed day!

Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Unfortunately our picnic was postponed on Monday due to bad weather so we were pleased to be able to go on Thursday instead! We had a fun time in the park and then played some games with our Teddies. We ended the picnic with some lovely juice and a biscuit. What a lovely end of term treat as a class!

A Poem for Holly Class

In year 2014 at the beginning of September
You came into my class, how well I remember.

Some of you were smiling and giggling a lot
Some were very quiet and a few tears I could spot

You came here to learn, to be taught how to read
You were then very much like a tiny new seed

You were all in my garden just waiting to grow
So this gardener got busy with her rake and her hoe

I fed you the water and let in the sun
You took in the soil, but we had only begun

Each day as I worked in this garden of mine
I saw you all growing so strong and so fine

Then finally one day I took a good look
And saw each of my flowers reading a book

It was obvious then that you had worked too
Soaking up all the food I had given to you

But although you have blossomed, you still need to grow
So I'll pass you on now to another gardener I know

She too has a rake and hoe she can use
And plenty of food from which you can choose

I hope you will keep your roots open wide
Take in all her food and keep it inside

Yes, a gardener can work all night and all day
But the flower must be willing to take in each ray

So work very hard in your garden each year
Do the best you can and you'll have nothing to fear

Grow strong and tall, reach up for the sun
Stay as nice as you are and have lots of fun.

This will be our last class page...it has been a pleasure reporting our learning journey in Holly Class. I wish you well in your new class! ~ Mrs Turrall
