We have been continuing our work on ‘Jim’s Lion’ this week. The children completed a diary entry from Jim’s perspective, describing one of his dreams. The children worked hard with this and have really demonstrated their progress since September which has been lovely to see! We have been using drama to develop our understanding of the text and inspire our imaginations. On Friday, we acted out one scene where Jim is auditioning the different animals for his ‘finder’. The performances were excellent and very funny! We were in stitches watching tap dancing octopuses, cake baking meerkats and stilt walking cheetahs. The children impressed me with their acting skills and this has then supported their writing. How lovely it has been to be able to do drama outside in the sun this week!
Mrs Knaggs has been hard at work this week, creating a display with some of our Environmental Week work. There are cushions, clay leaves with minibeasts, photos, paintings and writing to display and it has been hard fitting it all onto one board! The children will have some beautiful pieces of work to bring home at the end of the year.
Next week we have plenty of exciting things planned from Sports Day to Dads into School Day. We will still have swimming on Tuesday so please remember your swimming kit (this includes a swimming hat and flip flops).
