Welcome to 2016!
This week in English we have been looking at the Three Little Pigs. We have been focusing on character description and using a range of punctuation. The children created ‘Wanted’ posters for the wolf and thought of lots of similes and interesting adjectives and adverbs to describe him. You can see them on display in our classroom and one was chosen to be on the Star Writers’ board in the library area! We also did some whiteboard work and thought of questions we would like to have asked the wolf.
In Cubes maths group we have been using our numbers bonds to 10 to help us work out and add to the next multiple of 10. We played a variety of games and different activities to help us fill in missing number sentence by using our numbers bonds. We also have been finding the difference to fill in missing number sentences with a range of 2 and 3 digit numbers.
For this term in one of our PE sessions a week we are lucky enough to have a coach come in a teach Handball. Myself and the class were really excited about the sessions as we did not have much knowledge on the sport at all! The children have enjoyed the fun and lively sessions we have had so far and their passing and catching skills are definitely improving! Here are some photos of the children in action:
