Maple have been setting sail with the pirates this week! Weve really enjoyed our creative writing; writing pirate descriptions and pirate pocket poetry. Miss Hill (our English co-ordinator) visited our classroom and was very impressed with the creative language that the children were using. Niamh and Hughie even managed to use a simili in their work! Weve even transformed ourselves into pirates by making pirate hats and eye patches.
In Maths we have been exploring 3D shapes. We have been learning the names of some of the more common 3D shapes, talking about their features and trying to find them around school. Your children have been set the challenge of trying to find them at home as well so do support them on their quest to find as many different types of 3D shapes as they can! Feel free to take photos, draw pictures or even bring in items to show in class.
