CLASS WEB PAGE UPDATE
6th November 2020
We have been very busy since we came back to school after half term. We have started our new story, Sam Wu is NOT afraid of Sharks! We really enjoyed the first book and this one is very popular so far.
In Science, we are learning about what humans need this term. We started off by trying to answer this question: Do taller children have bigger feet? Once we had made our predictions, we had to work together to measure our feet, making sure we used our rulers accurately. Finally, we looked at our results and formed a conclusion – we found out that the taller a child is, the longer their feet are.
In Geography, we are learning about the continents and oceans of the world. We started off by trying to put a puzzle of the world back together before talking about what we already know about continents.

We have been very busy in Cherry class this term!
In Maths, we have learnt all about multiplication and division. We are now practising our 2, 5 and 10 times tables (multiplication and division facts) to try and memorise them as well as we can. Here is a picture of us working out division problems:
In English, we have been learning the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We have started to learn how to use speech marks and commas in lists, and will begin to plan to write our own stories inspired by Little Red Riding Hood next. This week, we have particularly enjoyed acting out the story. Our friends had to guess which part of the story we were acting out:
In spelling sessions, we have been practising our knowledge of homophones (words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings). Here we are playing homophone bingo:
