Autumn Term - 28th November 2014

We are continuing to practise for the Christmas performance in Birch class, so we have been very busy learning top-secret songs and dance moves this week. We’ve also managed to jam lots of other activities and learning into the past five days.


In our English lessons, we have been working towards creating our own myths for a long time. This week, we were finally ready to start writing our own. We thought carefully about description that we could use to make our writing interesting and how we should break our ideas into new paragraphs. As well as this, we made a real effort to write a little more than we usually do. Once we had finished writing our first draft, we shared them with each other, as you can see in these pictures:

In history lessons, we have learnt how to write our names using the Ancient Greek alphabet and finished creating our shields. Watch this space for some pictures of the finished objects, which we are going to display in our classrooms.


We also had a lot of fun in spelling this week. We learnt that the ‘sh’ sound is not always made with these letters, and focussed on the –tion suffix. We searched our reading books and dictionaries to see how many words we could find with –tion in them. Here are some pictures of the work that we did together:
