Week commencing 8th June
This week in Ash class we have begun our new termly topic of “Just Add Water”. We have been learning about different things we use water for and why it is important.
In maths we have been learning about capacity. We have been experimenting in the water tray by counting how many cups it takes to fill different containers and comparing them.
In literacy we have started working in new phonics groups with different children and teachers. This way we all get the support we need to help us reach the next steps in our learning.
We have really been enjoying our swimming which started last week. It is great fun and is helping to keep us healthy too!
We have also been keeping active outside of the pool. We have been getting ready for sports day by practising team games and running races.
Is going to be a busy week! On Monday we have our whole school photo so we will need to be looking smart. Tuesday and Wednesday are Dads into School days and Wednesday is sports day! We have chosen our first water topic to be “Pirates and Mermaids” so we will be starting that next week.
Please continue to read with us every night and help us spot those digraphs and tricky trigraphs!
Help us to spot different ways water is used in our homes and environment. Why is it so important? Are there any ways we can save some water around our homes?
Have a lovely weekend and don’t forget to check back soon!
