This week, we have been continuing with our Roman topic. In English we have been studying non chronological reports. We have been exploring their features including subheadings, bullet points, captions and diagrams.
Here are some photos of us working hard organising information about Oakfield First School using given subheadings.
We also generated ideas about what people would like to know about us and using subheadings, wrote a short report about ourselves.
In History, we used non-fiction books and websites to find out more about the Romans. We are building on our knowledge from last week and beginning to understand how the Romans lived.
In PE, we have been starting to play netball. We have been applying our throwing and catching skills and showing some good teamwork.
The children who are going to the Hexagon have been practising hard and it will soon be time to perform in Reading. Good luck to all who are involved, whether it is dancing, singing as part of a group or singing as a solo.
On a final note, please ensure that the children have their instruments every Monday and encourage them to take care of the instruments. There are quite a lot of children forgetting their instruments and this affects their progression as they are unable to practise in school. Thank you!
