Wow what a busy term we have had! We have all settled really well into our new classes and routines and have made lots of new friends around the school.
We have been really busy throughout our topic of “Marvellous Me” learning all about ourselves, our bodies, our families and our five senses. The past couple of weeks we have been thinking about the changes happening around us and talking about Autumn and Harvest.
Here are some of the exciting things we have been up to…
We produced some fantastic “I is for Imagination” projects and we enjoyed sharing these with our class. The projects were all well-thought out, interesting and, most importantly, IMAGINATIVE! A big well done from all of the Saplings team.
We have started learning our letter sounds in phonics sessions. After half-term we will be continuing this learning with different adults in the unit depending on our next steps. We will all be learning in a range of different ways including through games, songs and mark making.
We shall be starting our new topic “Tell a Story, Sing a Song”. We will be reading a range of different stories and traditional tales and using songs and drama to re-tell them. We will also be learning about celebrations from different cultures.
Please collect and send in any materials we can use for junk modelling such as cardboard boxes and clean food cartons.
We are really enjoying our reading books so please make sure you are reading with us every night and signing and returning our green reading records and reading folders daily.
Don’t forget about the maths challenge cards which are available to take home on Fridays.
Have a super half-term and check back soon to find out what else we have been up to!
