Autumn Term - September 2015 Part 2

17th September

On Wednesday, we had our first Computing lesson with a special guest. RoboBednar came to help us to begin to understand how to program. We learnt that a program is a set of instructions, and that it is really important to make sure that your instructions are precise if the program is to work.

Our first task was to make a delicious jam sandwich for Mrs Walters and RoboBednar. We had to give RoboBednar a set of instructions since he was our sandwich maker.

As we gave RoboBednar instructions, we realised just how precise we had to be! Here are few of the results of our vague instructions:

Picture 1 “Put the butter on the bread!”
Picture 2 “Put the bread down!”
Picture 3 “Slice the butter!”
Eventually, Mrs Walters and RoboBednar did enjoy their jam sandwich, and we’re really looking forward to the rest of our programming lessons this year.
